Jennifer, our Editor, was born in Lanzhou and moved to Scotland in 2009. She is responsible for the role of translation and interpretation at Young Chinese Professionals.
Majored in English at Hunan University of Science, Art and Foreign Language Institute, Jennifer is an experienced Teacher with over 6 years teaching English and Chinese languages to both Chinese and non-Chinese students. Besides teaching, she also worked in the translation departments of many international corporations. Prior to her role at YCP, She worked as the Import and Export Manager and Translator for Gansu AIDI Integrated Sustainable Development Partners from 2008 to 2009. She was the Business Translator for Lanzhou LS-National Oilwell Petroleum Engineering Co. from 2007 to 2008. Prior to that she was Governmental and Legal Translator and Interpretor for Lanzhou Lanzhou Transnational Translation & Consultation Co. and Nanchang Ready Translation Co from 2005 to 2007.
With over 5 years of experience in translating and interpreting for different industries, she relocated to Edinburgh to further her career. She is currently Manadarin Language Teacher at Beekslack Community High School, Public Services Interpretor at Global Language Service Co. and Nursery Nurse Assistant at Bright Horizons Family Solution.
