YCP participated in the YiWu City of ZheJiang Province - Chinese Associations in Scotland and Northern Ireland Business Exchange Seminar hosted by Madam Tan, our Consul General in Edinburgh. The event was held at the Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh in September 2010 and was attended by representatives of our Chinese associations across Scotland and Northern Ireland. During the event, Madam Tan explained the current situation and the potentials in trade and investment between China, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Madam Tan also indicated that the Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh would continue to facilitate these international trading relations and to support the international growth of Chinese enterprises.
Mr Chan, Vice Chancellor of YiWu City, described the growing international trade between the UK and YiWu City - total trade reached USD 75 million in 2009. Furthermore, it was also delightful to know that the City recently hosted the 16th YiWu International Small Product Expo and 3rd International Forestry Products Expo. Mr Chan also invited all members interested in Scotland-China partnership to visit YiWu and to explore possible business opportunities there.
